Module 5

Biosecurity Tig - avoid attack from predators in this fast and fun game

The teacher scatters cards (below) across an area. One person starts as the rat and has to catch the chicks who are trying to run away. The chicks can pick up the cards, which they can use to defend themselves. After the card has been used it must be returned to the teacher, then the chick is vulnerable again. Once a chick is caught, it is eaten and becomes a new rat. Some of the cards mean that the rat who tries to catch that chick is out and goes to jail, and some mean the rat has to stand still for 10 seconds. When the rat is standing still, the chicks can use cards to send them to jail. When all the chicks are eaten or all the rats are in jail the game is over and you can start again. Try changing the number of cards and see how much easier or harder that makes it

This game was invented by pupls from Acaleven Primary School, Oban, Scotland
