The European Biosecurity and Island Restoration Advisory Group (EBIRAG)

What is EBIRAG?

The European Biosecurity and Island Restoration Advisory Group (EBIRAG) was set up in 2021 for the purpose of providing an expert advice and document review service for island biosecurity and invasive species eradication practitioners in Europe. The group consists of island restoration experts across Europe with experience from a wide range of ground-based and aerial eradication operations on inhabited and uninhabited islands.

EBIRAG will review feasibility studies, operational plans and biosecurity plans relating to island restoration operations taking place in any European territory, including Outermost Regions and Overseas Territories. For very large and/or complex projects, EBIRAG may be able to review documentation and provide support at project selection stage.

Guidance for writing documents and document templates can be found in the resource sections here.
